Shane Carruth’s shipping drama “The Modern Ocean” has drawn an impressive cast with Anne Hathaway, Keanu Reeves, Daniel Radcliffe, Chloe Grace Moretz, Tom Holland, Asa Butterfield, Abraham Attah and Jeff Goldblum all on board.
Carruth will also star. Producers are Blackbird’s Lawrence Inglee, Carruth’s erbp Film and Tadmor’s Eyal Rimmon. FilmNation Entertainment will launch international sales at the American Film Market, which opens Wednesday.
Carruth’s previous films are “Upstream Color,” which won the 2013 Special Jury Prize at Sundance, and “Primer,” which won the 2004 Sundance Grand Jury Prize and the Alfred P. Sloan Prize.
“The Modern Ocean” centers on the competition for valuable shipping routes, the search for the hidden cache of priceless material and the powerful need for vengeance in a secretive world filled with mysterious technologies and bitter rivalries.
Carruth first unveiled the project in late September.
